Following controversies surrounding the nomination of Rev. Jeremiah Gado as the TEKAN/ECWA bloc nominee to vie for the President of Christian Association Nigeria (CAN), a plot emerged yesterday to impeach the National President of the Youth Wing of CAN (YOWICAN), Daniel David Kadzai over his support for Gado.
Daily Trust gathered that the plot however met a brick wall when the National Exco of YOWICAN which should have made a move for Kadzai’s impeachment resolved that he should settle disputes with all aggrieved parties within a period of three months.
The YOWICAN resolution which was made available to journalists, asked Kadzai to also reconcile with his base, the Nasarawa State CAN, which had also written a petition against him.
When contacted on phone, Kadzai said the YOWICAN resolution was referring to the activities of Patriotic Christian Youths of Nigeria whose leader, Evangelist Simon Timothy Nasso who told journalists that Rev. Gado was never elected by the TEKAN/ECWA bloc.
“There is no such group, Evangelist Simon Timothy Nasso is operating an illegal group because as the National Youth Wing President of CAN, every youth group is registered under my office and we don’t have such a group, ” he said.
