As states across Nigeria struggle to pay workers’ salaries, Ogun state government has announced the payment of April 2016 salary to all categories of its workers and pensioners The state government also announced the payment of part of the outstanding deductions.
“The state government is proud to state that in spite of the current financial crunch, it is not owing workers salaries. As workers celebrate May Day, the Ogun State government reassures workers of its commitment to their welfare,” Dayo Adeneye, Commissioner for Information & Strategy in the state said. Meanwhile, governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos has approved the lump sum payment of leave allowance to all staff in the state’s mainstream Civil Service, Local Governments and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
